Committed to global neurodiversity education advancement, Joy Young partners with leaders to promote neuro-inclusive communities. Joy is committed to building a better world through an increased understanding of neurodiversity. In 2023 Joy was recognized as one of the Top 50 Global Neurodiversity Evangelists.
Serving over 40 years as a teacher and school administrator, Joy has a heart for all learners. Following her years in education, Joy's role as neurodiversity coach in EY’s Neurodiversity Centers of Excellence introduced her to opportunities and challenges of neurodiversity in the workplace.
Their combined years of teaching totaling over 100 years, Joy and colleague Tim will soon launch their book, “The Neurodiversity Connection: An Educator’s Guide to Understanding Differing Neurotypes to Support Student Success.” This book leverages storytelling and research to encourage curiosity, understanding and respect for both the neurominority and the neuromajority. Joy shares that living with and learning from her neurodistinct husband of over forty years, her autistic son, and her ADHD daughter is simply priceless
